I’ve gone to Brad Ward Motors on and off over the years, and they’ve always been great, honest, reliable mechanics. I haven’t always been in the financial position to service my car regularly and do what’s needed at the time, I often feel very anxious about the cost, but whenever I’ve taken my car in, I’ve felt reassured and well looked after. The team are understanding, never push unnecessary work, and seem genuinely trustworthy. I’m not entirely sure how their prices compare, but It’s hard to find that kind of honesty and integrity these days, definitely a business worth supporting!

Booking a regular oil change in Henderson is the cheapest thing you can do to keep your engine alive and running smoothly. Engine oil lubricates, cools and cleans the inside of your engine, but it breaks down and picks up contaminants over time, and old, tired oil is one of the most common causes of avoidable engine wear. At our Moselle Ave workshop we drain the old oil, fit a fresh filter and refill with the correct manufacturer-specified grade for your vehicle, whether that is a modern long-life synthetic or a more traditional mineral oil.
Using the right grade matters more than people realise, because the wrong oil can hurt performance and economy and, in some engines, cause real damage. We look after customers right across West Auckland, from Ranui to New Lynn, and can pair an oil change with a service or WOF to save you a trip.
What we cover
Engine oil drained and replaced with the correct specified grade
Oil filter replacement with a quality filter
Sump plug and washer checked and resealed
Oil level set correctly to the dipstick
Visible oil leaks around the sump, filter and seals
Oil condition assessed for contamination or coolant
Coolant, brake and power steering fluid levels topped up
Windscreen washer fluid topped up
Tyre pressures checked and adjusted
Service reminder light reset where applicable
Quick under-bonnet visual check while we are there
Old oil disposed of responsibly and legally
How it works
Book in or drop by, and tell us your vehicle details so we have the right oil and filter ready. We drain the old oil, replace the filter, refill to the correct level with the specified grade, and reset any service reminder. We top up your other key fluids and check tyre pressures while we are at it. If we spot anything during the quick visual check that needs attention, we will let you know and quote it, but we never carry out extra work without calling you first.
Quotes, no surprises
An oil change comes with a no-obligation quote based on your vehicle and the oil it needs, confirmed before we start. If we notice something during the visual check, we will simply mention it and quote it separately, with no obligation and no surprise charges added to your bill. You only ever pay for what you have approved.
